The Waste Paper Company work towards ISO 14001 certification

The Waste Paper Company has an on-going programme to gain ISO 14001 certification, the international Environmental Management System which ensures companies have the process in place to protect the environment through business process.

Simon Razzell at The Waste Paper Company comments “Our core business is working with companies who, by recycling all their waste paper, are keen to ‘do their bit for the environment’ whilst ensuring waste is secure. Protecting the environment is an integral and fundamental part of our business. We already comply with all existing environmental legislations, and gaining ISO 14001 certification demonstrates, to our customers, that we are committed to balancing the need to protect and improve the environment”.

First published as a standard in 1996, ISO 14001 is one of a series of international ISO 14000 standards which specify the requirements for an organisation's environmental management system. It is a voluntary standard and applies to the environmental aspects over which an organisation has control and where it can be expected to have an influence. Certification requires the implementation and maintenance of an environmental management system and for the company to demonstrate and ensure that compliance with environmental laws and regulations are met.

It is anticipated that the process will be completed soon.

It is your legal responsibility to dispose of all waste responsibly. Additionally, with increased global competition, businesses are eager to promote their corporate social responsibility and minimise the effect their operation has on the environment.
